I want to talk to you about momentum and about being around like minded people.
Momentum is so important and to create it, all you have to do is get started. Take one step. Do one thing that is productive and gets you closer to your goal. It’s really important to keep moving. Don’t let anything stop you just because you don’t know how to do something or don’t know what to do next. It’s important that you keep taking that next step. Because if you get bogged down in either procrastination or frustration because you don’t know how to do something, that’s when everything kind of comes to a halt, right? Keep going, keep pressing on. If you don’t know how to do something, find somebody who knows how and get them to do that thing for you. That’s a really, really important. Do not waste your time and effort on learning, when there’s already someone who can do it better and quicker. Something else that I’m really kind of discovering, maybe not for the first time, but kind of revisiting once again is being around like minded people. I find that I’m usually not around many people like me in my normal day, but it’s important to go seek those people out. Whether it’s a Facebook community or some sort of group that people are thinking like you, acting like you, and people who are motivated by the same things that you’re motivated by, whether it’s church, whether it’s a community group, a charity, something…get connected. It’s really important that you find these people. I joined a Facebook group that was organized around a challenge. It’s been about 30 days or so since I’ve been in this. and it’s been awesome. And we’re just finishing up now and oh my gosh, I can’t even tell you how much we learned, how much we were pushed and how much we supported each other. And none of us knew each other when this venture started. We were told at the beginning of this challenge that there were a little over 8,000 people who joined this challenge at once. We were told that by the fourth week that there’d be like 2% of us left. And it’s true about 2% of us are left, but we’re really, really trying to help each other out. So find those like-minded people. Search for them. If you’re motivated, if you’re on fire about something, find people who are on fire about it too. Because watch this…you’ll do so much more together than you would separately. Trailblazing is not easy. If you’re going to blaze a new trail or blaze a trail sort of less traveled, make sure you’re doing it with somebody, with the support of people, with the encouragement of people. Just get out there and make sure you connect. That’s the most important thing. Everything I’m telling you is really based on our relationships. So make them all good, make them all positive, make them all encouraging. Your success, your momentum is counting on you.
